Here are some tips to keep in mind when considering upgrades to your home or business:

Heat pumps provide efficient heating and cooling in one system. Columbia REA offers incentives for qualifying HVAC retrofits and upgrades, including ducted and ductless heat pumps. Proper sizing, approved equipment and professional installation are important for comfort, efficiency and rebate eligibility.

Duct sealing can reduce conditioned-air loss through gaps and disconnected joints in attics, crawl spaces and other unconditioned areas. Members applying for this incentive must also complete Columbia REA’s duct-sealing form and follow the program’s best-practice requirements.

Smart thermostats offer convenient scheduling and remote temperature control. Some models can learn household routines and reduce unnecessary heating or cooling. Columbia REA provides a rebate application and a qualifying product list, so verify that your preferred model is eligible before purchasing it.

Insulation and windows strengthen a home’s thermal envelope. Columbia REA’s weatherization rebates include qualifying insulation, door and window improvements. Added attic, wall or floor insulation can slow heat transfer, while high performance windows can reduce drafts.
