The Seven Cooperative Principles that we follow provide the framework for the cooperative business model. One of those seven principles, and perhaps our favorite, is “Concern for Community.” Columbia REA takes its commitment to our communities very seriously. We are involved with many programs, projects, and organizations whose mission is to serve the people around us and the places we call home.
This past holiday Season, Columbia REA was a proud sponsor of the Salvation Army Kettle Kickoff, which starts with the annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Proceeds fromThe Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run/Walk are used to benefit families in need in our community through the Salvation Army.
Columbia REA also partnered with the Salvation Army on their Christmas Food Drive by providing turkeys for the 225 full Christmas dinners and gift baskets that were donated and distributed throughout our community to local families in need.
