Communications Construction Lead

Job Description

Columbia iConnect, a subsidiary of Columbia Rural Electric, is hiring for the position of Communications Construction Lead at the Walla Walla office.

The Communications Outside Construction Lead is the onsite representative for Columbia iConnect. This is a hands-on position that will ensure construction is built safely and to the required local, state and federal standards and specifications.  Responsibilities include overseeing and guiding telecom construction projects from start to finish, managing field teams and subcontractors, handling projects logistics like material and scheduling, communicating with clients and stakeholders, and resolving issues to maintain project timelines and network integrity.  The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, should be a motivated individual with the ability to provide superior customer service, multitask and be detail orientated and have an understanding of the network infrastructure systems and concepts, including communication protocols for wired and wireless communications systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and coordinate outside plant construction using contract and internal resources to accomplish assigned projects.
  • Establish system by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, and operating and network management systems.
  • Installing upgrades, monitoring system performance, installing and maintaining customer premises equipment & communication backbone equipment for data subscribers.

Candidate should have an Associated Arts (AA) degree in Networking Systems or computer related field.  A portion of education requirement may be substituted for experience. Minimum of three years’ experience in a progressively responsible electronic technology related position.  A valid driver’s license is required, Class A CDL endorsement is preferred but not required.

Columbia REA/Columbia iConnect offers an attractive wage and benefit package which includes medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, retirement and 401K.   Salary range DOE: $58,650-96,873.
