Please do not start construction before we have provided approval.
Are you ready and have your documentation? Proceed below with the 2 step process.
Columbia REA will review the site, requested type and size of the system. We don’t need a complete application, but certain items are required and you cant complete the process without them (look for the red star in the form). We will confirm that we have received the request, and within 30 days, we will review the electrical system connected to the meter to determine if it is capable of handling the electrical energy you (the member) would like to provide back to us. We will then contact you with any additional requirements or costs before the final application.
After the above pre application is completed a Columbia REA associate will contact you with a link to continue. Before you submit an application, you should have following items available (if you don’t have the information you cannot complete the process):
Columbia REA requires a non-refundable Interconnection Application fee based on the system size, rated in AC, for either new systems or expansions to existing systems-
Call (509) 526-4041 to pay the fee after completing the form.
Note: Once submitted the Columbia REA Member, will receive an email from us with the application information and asking for a confirmation from your email. (not your contractors email) This allows us to know you have authorized the agreement and have hired a contractor. Confirmations from a contractors emails will not be accepted.
We don’t review or approve applications until the application fee is paid and all information is received. We strongly suggest you do not proceed with installation until you have approval from Columbia REA. We are not responsible for any costs or issues encountered by proceeding without Columbia REA approval.
