Manager of Operations
Columbia REA is seeking a highly motivated individual for Manager of Operations based at our Walla Walla location.
The Manager of Operations is a key member of the Cooperative Management Team and responsible for the overall direction and administration of the Operations Department. This position directs the day to day activities of all operations, facilities, materials and purchasing, fleet, equipment and personnel. Ability to manage multiple projects, assignments, and personnel in a hectic fast-paced competitive environment. Strong teambuilding and leadership skills coupled with ability to deliver Cooperative’s operations information in a professional manner in line with established standards. Must possess superior written and verbal communication skills and be a champion for operations personnel in creating a team atmosphere.
The ideal applicant will have the ability to translate technical data and information into easy to understand materials. Excellent people skills. Ability to work with general public, Cooperative members, media, and internal team members. Extensive knowledge of requirements, regulations, and reports as required by local, state, federal, and industry agencies. Strong knowledge of operations and project management practices and standards, including corporate regulations, contract management and industry and governmental standards related to the Cooperative environment. Strong knowledge of construction specifications and OSHA Utility Standards. Strong knowledge of emergency and routine dispatch procedures and protocols. Extensive knowledge of equipment including transmission, substations, distribution of electric energy, trucks, SCADA, power line carrier, radio equipment, etc. Strong knowledge of management and human resources skills. Ability to lead, build consensus, and foster teamwork among diverse populations, including colleagues, subordinates, industry peers, Cooperative members, and the general public. Knowledge of the Cooperative industry and electric regulations. Ability to work on multiple tasks, delegate, and deal with emergencies. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
