In 2006, after a tragic boating accident took the life of CREA lineman Jeff Meredith, a fourth scholarship was established in his memory by the cooperative. The Jeff Meredith Scholarship is a one-time award of $2,500 to help the recipient to attend a recognized lineman's training program leading to a career as an electric utility lineman.

The eligibility requirements are similar to those mentioned for the academic award, but they differ slightly.
